I've finished Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer's fourth book. I don't know what to say. It's SO different from the rest of the books, and in some ways, I hate this book...but in another, sick, twilight-addict way, I can't stop reading it. I'm reading it AGAIN just because I can't bear to be without the characters--yet.

I went to the midnight release party, which was weird. My library friends all wore funny twilight-inspired t-shirts, but there were people there dressed up in prom dresses and too much white makeup! My t-shirt is to the right. Why is it funny? Read on...

If you didn't know, Twilight is being made into a movie, to be released on December 12, 2008. The guy who played Cedric Diggory (killed by Voldemort) in the Harry Potter films has won the most coveted role of Edward in Twilight. His name is Robert Pattinson, and this role could really boost his career. He is so gorgeous that I think he really will make a good Edward! He's British, of course, but does a pretty good American accent. Here's a picture of Edward, and then a picture of the Cullen family, although I feel like they all sort of look weird there.

Click on the pictures to see larger versions. Enjoy!

So, for those of you who are working through the books, enjoy them! I really liked Eclipse. I LOVE that tent scene, and the conversations between the two characters. It was brilliant! And New Moon, did you all feel that heartbreak with Bella? I swear it depressed me for a week. I can't wait to see the movie! Would you like to see the trailer for it? (I know that you do!) Here you go!

I rented Penelope this weekend for my girls and there was a big trailer for Twilight. I don't know if I can see it. I am worried that it will really depress me if it doesn't come close to the book. I don't think I like the Bella chick.... who am I kidding, I probably won't be able to resist seeing it.

Yeah, it sort of grows on you. At first, everyone (meaning, LOTS of people who call themselves "twilighters"...) were really MEAN and aggressive about their distaste for Robert Pattinson as Edward. People were bashing him all over the internet. And then, when they named Kristin Stewart as Bella, it was another outpouring of emotion because another actress (the chick from the Series of Unfortunate Events) was rumored to be Bella, and much favored for the role by the twilighters. But then, we were all surprised that they picked Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart. I, too, worry that it may not be as thrilling as it is in my head when I read the book, but I can say this: at least they actually filmed it in Forks, WA. And Stephenie Meyer has been REALLY involved in the whole production. We'll see...

Hi, Kim,
Start with Twilight, the next book is New Moon, then Eclipse, and finally Breaking Dawn, but be warned again...the story is addicting;)

Kim, good job:) Only a few days till the movie comes out (11-21). Some of my students already have tickets for Thursday at midnight. I think my co-teacher, my student teacher and I are going to wait till Tuesday to see it. I am really looking forward to hearing everyone's reviews of the movie!
